And, after the rain cooled everything down, we ate Sage-Walnut Pesto tossed with whole wheat rotini, and mozzarella-tomato-basil-apricot salad (a recipe I picked up from Kalyn), and gazpacho, and potato salad, and rotisserie chicken, and washed it all down with more wine out there on that front porch. It was one of the most perfect evenings of the summer, all warmth and good food and excellent friends and a spectacular Midwestern storm. [...]

Coffeepot, what a cool idea -- and it sounds so pretty! I'll have to keep that in reserve...

And I agree -- playing with food is so much more fun than just eating it.

I just made up two batches yesterday. A red batch and a yellow.

I then took a biscuit cutter and placed it in a bowl and poured the yellow inside the cutter and the red outside the cutter..whala..pulled that sucker out and had bicolor gazpacho.

It sure is fun playing with food.
