As you wander the National Gallery in Washington, D.C., you come upon small conservatories, with fountains and flowers and wrought iron furniture. They’re good places to stop and breathe and mull over the paintings just encountered. Here are some of the flowers from one of those conservatories, snapped in early September:

Very pretty. Roses seem to be a popular choice today….could it be we’re all subconsciously wishing for summer already?
