Sorry about your weather. If it makes you feel better, February has been pretty tough around the DC outskirts! Although, I did make it to the Maymont Flower Show in Richmond this year…usually the weather is rather bad right when it is scheduled (maybe the weather doesn’t like flower shows??). Anyway, hang in there…March is coming…you know we usually get some freak storm in March here…misery does love company…lol! There will be lots of opportunities for garden learning! Just you wait.

Well… look at it this way, you don’t want to attract bees, you want your flowers to attract bees! (Couldn’t resist) And composting? Don’t make it too complicated, just start with a nice pile of clippings, trimmings, etc. and before you know it, all those microbes will make the compost for you!
KEEP that weather where you. We DON’T need it in Indiana!

Gottagarden, you’re right — DC usually is in for some sort of freakish weather in March and, in fact, occasionally even an odd snowfall at the beginning of April. So you’re not out of it yet, either. Glad you had a good time at the flower show in Richmond!
Carol, ha ha…you’re so right. As for the weather…I’m not sure I’m going to have much to do with whether it gets out your way or not, but for your sake, I hope you don’t get it!

Well, out here by Coralville Lake, big limbs encased in ice are falling off the trees with a crash, and rolling downhill, and they are talking up to 8″ of snow yet to come; our power has been on and off, and the wind is howling through the treetops. Welcome to early spring in Iowa!
