I bought three bunches of daffodils for $5 at the hardware store yesterday, and every stem was tightly closed when I brought them home. By last night, this first blossom was opening, and by this morning, six or seven of the blossoms have followed suit.

My local groccery had them on sale too…10 stems for $1…They are my birthday flower and always remind me of my mom and our first real home together in Timonium….when it was still all farms and not really suburbia yet.

Cole, I didn’t realize they were your birthday flower! Very cool. The bouquet is totally open now — just two days after I bought them. A total explosion of yellow. I should have taken a picture tonight when I got home and could still take them outside and photograph them in the light. Maybe tomorrow night…we’ll see…
