Since it’s so cold here in the QCA (16° at last check) you have no idea how wonderful it is to see green of any kind! And where there’s a dash of color splashed in, it’s even better!!

What an interesting capture! Things are seen so differently through the eyes of a photographer! The way the building is situated makes it look like the perfect frame for that little flower box.

That’s why they put the building there.

This is an interesting photo–a tiny window box in a huge structure. Happy GTS,

The window is very ornate and the window box is colourful and looks pretty.

Ginni, yes — a little green is a good thing these days!

ahurst615, that window box totally caught my eye from my friend’s apartment window — I’m glad I noticed it.

xrisfg, that’s definitely one way to look at it.

Aiyana, the residents of that apartment are definitely unwilling to give up on urban greenery.

Sara, I love the details on that apartment building — it’s one thing I love about New York City — there are so many buildings with that kind of decoration.

I love the architecture of the building, and the tiny little window box with that pop of color. Is this a recent photo? Are things still this green there?

Chigiy, this was taken the weekend before Thanksgiving — it was very cold, so I was surprised those flowers were hanging in there, but there was still quite a bit of greenery around.

I enjoyed the photographic glimpse of city living and life and the vibrant picture story about the growers’ market.

Ah, thanks for the date, I was wondering what southern section of New York City you were visiting. Yes, we in the southern Northeast (NYC, CT shoreline), had greenery up until Thanksgiving and then a cold snap hit and now it looks like winter out there, but no snow yet thank goodness! Some blog I read made reference to the complete lack of fall weather here — we really did go from Indian Summer to early winter in about a week — but that’s just New England for you!

I can commiserate – seeing any green is wonderful. This window box is lovely – I like the stone sculpture underneath it. I wish I had windows like this.

Jennylitchfield, thanks so much for the kind comment!

Heather, sounds like snow’s heading your way now…no escaping this time!

Kate, yes — the windows are pretty amazing. I love all the details!
