I just bought a bunch of seeds in MN to bring back with me – things I have a hard time finding in France (’cause it’s ‘pig food’ – like decent sweet corn). At -4F it was hard to get in the mood. You really got dumped with snow, didn’t you?

Robin, I would definitely have to agree with you. With limited space, it’s always a challenge to decide what to fit in there…

Kristina, how cool that you sell the plants — if I were near you, I’d definitely come buy a couple!

Hotfessional, I could be more sick of the snow, but then I might be vomiting. Or something…

Curtis, I hate it when the shopping cart deletes the order!

PrairieRobin, oh, do I know just how you feel. If I had no car and couldn’t escape the house, I don’t know what I’d do. At least you’ve been sketching plans, though — you’re up on me in terms of that!

I hear you about getting stuck when it comes to actually ordering the seeds and plants. Even though I now have a collection of 10 different catalogs that I read obsessively and I’ve even gone so far as to sketch my plans onto graph paper, I haven’t placed a single order.

This winter has me in a total funk. My car died so I’m stuck in the house all day. I can’t even walk around my yard because the snow is up to my stinking knees! This is almost as bad as living with 6 months of rain in Seattle. I know, the weather guy says spring will be here in 34 days, but the forecast for the weekend calls for 6 more inches of snow.

Ugh……..

remember this about winter– any sane mammal would be eating lots of carbs and sleeping; not complaining about being depressed and using false sun to cheer themselves up. So against the advice of those who know– eat some home made bread and take a nap. Then, look at those seeds as if you are dreaming of waking in the warmth of the rebirth of the planet.

I just made my order over the last two weeks. two of the four are here.

I had my order ready to place it online when. I had to run out and do something else. Then came back and everything in my internet shopping basket was cleared. Bummer.

I’m the same way. We actually get Spring a lot sooner than you do but I almost get paralyzed by all the choices available. I have a small, urban garden and I have to choose carefully. I’ve got to order soon though – I sell heirloom tomato plants at our local farmer’s market and I need to start them next month!

Don’t you think that the sheer NUMBER of kinds of seeds available is part of the problem?

I have ordered tomatoes and some specific flowers I know I’ll need. But as far as selecting all the veggie seeds from all the different varieties, I still have to place that order. The list is just too long. I know I won’t get it all planted–I would need a much larger garden than I have.
