Don, you’re quite a guy for digging that whole bed all by your lonesome! And trust me — when you’re harvesting the good stuff, you’ll be celebrating. It’s just the weeding part that will cause some grumbling, I bet. Weeding…much less fun than wedding. ;-)

Gillie, see, here’s this about that — I think it would be great to have diamonds AND compost!

Kate, yes…I have been known to stomp my feet at delayed gratification on many the occasion…

Susan, beans grow quickly, don’t they? Glad you have everything your heart desires — your man, your ring, AND your garden, my friend — you deserve all the best!

It’s pouring rain in that garden right now, and the beans are growing taller and taller (everything else seems a little slower). I love this ring, but I’ll be wearing it for a very long time; it was worth the wait for the new veggie garden.

Happy gardening together for years and years. It may seem odd, but think about the compost as an anniversary present..who needs diamonds when you can have thick and rick compost!
