[...] I did end up going with my tagline (“It’s amazing what I’ll do for a good tomato.”) for Kalyn’s Food Bloggers’ Birds of a Feather gathering. Others interpreted the 10-word assignment a little differently, either stringing together 10 random words or not following Kalyn’s guidelines at all, or, in the case of one hapless PR person, meandering through a pitch for whatever site she represented (it does not speak well of her pitch that I cannot remember what she was talking about…) until she got to about word 75 and Kalyn reminded her diplomatically and firmly of all the other people patiently waiting to speak.
Sharon, yeah -- I can't steal a line from you! I'll report back for sure tomorrow...

Andrea, it was wonderful to meet you, too! So glad we got to have dinner together.

Ourfriendben, it was tough, but I succeeded...stay tuned...

Genie, you've got to be kidding! The shorter it is, the harder it gets! No wonder you're sweating. I can't tell you how many times I had to write a 25-word mission statement at work for whatever the current mission was. The idea was, if you couldn't say it in 25 words, you didn't know what you were doing. And frankly, despite my love for words and for going on (and on), I could see their point. You, on the other hand, clearly know what you're doing. I have great confidence in your getting it down to 10 words!

How about "I moved across the country for the fruits and vegetables?" No, wait, that's my line. I'm sure you will come up with something perfect.
