Having grown up in one of the mountain states with two seasons, hot and dry or cold and snowy, I love the 3 seasons of spring and I don't miss shoveling the fluffy white stuff at all now that I live in the South Bay. I planted peas and pansies in October and I love it.

Scott, whuuuut? Travel east of the tunnel? ;-) But you're right -- there's definitely some sun out that way, and yes, this year? Summer dresses were perfectly appropriate for October. It was GORGEOUS.

You'll have plenty of opportunities for summer dresses. The first two weeks of May and the first two weeks of October are usually gorgeous. And all summer long you can pop out to Walnut Creek and wear one. Don't worry it's safe to travel east of through Caldecott Tunnel.
