Bunnies+carrots

It’s no secret how I felt about the rabbits who made their way in and out of my Iowa garden. So far, I have yet to see a rabbit in California, although I’m sure they’re somewhere, munching happily on vegetables, maybe in the Central Valley.

Regardless, although I don’t give them much thought any more, last week, my friend Betsy posted a little piece that cracked me up.

I suppose one could think of it as an advertisement for the benefits of beta carotene. I prefer to think of it as a little justification for all those times I went careening across the yard scaring the little buggers off into the distance.

Kitty Joe, let’s keep that between you and me (and the rest of the Interwebs). Also, I should note for the record that no bunnies have ever been hurt in the writing (or content-gathering) of this blog. ;-)

Susan, ah, good. Glad to know they’re somewhere, staging themselves for my return to gardening…

Ah, yes. The joys of bunnies.
On the upside (or maybe just a different side), squirrels are sometimes just as evil. Last year, a squirrel nibbled all my tulips. Yes — a squirrel. Gotta love nature!

Talina, excellent — the contained bunnies, indeed, don’t cause a problem.

Foodhappens, one of my friends lost all her tomatoes one summer to some squirrel. That is a capital offense, as far as I’m concerned.

hey heen – thanks for giving my bunny drawing a shout-out! lately, all i want to do is draw bunnies. i don’t really know why. i thought my bunny phase ended when i was 5, after the last of my pet bunnies went to bunny heaven.

p.s. while i love a fluffy squirrel tail, squirrels are evil, indeed. the froo-its of ee-veeeeel. my mom’s garden is plagued by the fluffy-tails de-veeels.

El Gee! Nah, the bunny phase is never over. NEVER. And I agree with you on the squirrels. Fluffy-tailed rats, they are.
